Public Statement - Mold Bus Station Toilets
Public Statement
There has been
much speculation and conversation of late regarding the future of the bus
station toilets in Mold Town Centre.
Mold Town Council would like to make it clear to residents and visitors that we are actively exploring the possibility of taking on primary responsibility for the toilets. We have requested a considerable amount of information from Flintshire County Council which as yet, has not been forthcoming. In taking on an asset of this nature we need to ensure that we are very clear as to what the financial commitment is on behalf of the residents of Mold.
We are also keen to explore further the refurbishments of the toilets prior to any transfer, the prospect of any possible shared arrangements for operating the toilets and most importantly further engagement with the public on the future of the asset.
As a Town Council we are very aware of the importance of retaining the toilets in Mold, however as a responsible Council we must endeavour to ensure that we do this in the most advantageous manner possible for the residents of Mold.
We are seeking assurances that the toilets will remain operational until a full transfer is agreed or a suitable alternative is in place. We are seeking full disclosure of all relevant information and meaningful negotiations with Flintshire County Council before a decision can be made.
We will keep the public informed and will be undertaking further engagements with you as the project progresses.
