OFFICIAL OPENING 10:30 – 10:45

Opening our day of activities with the official opening of the new access bridge from the Bowling Green, Clayton Rd housing to the Town Park

GUIDED WALK TO THE RIVER ALYN 11:00

Join local experts to learn about some of the wonderful wildlife and history which can be found on the railway path (Bovril Path) to the River Alyn and beyond. There will be a Welsh language walk and an English language walk

Meet at the Bovril Path entrance next to Lidl, Denbigh Rd, CH7 1BL

MEDIEVAL RE-ENACTMENT WITH THE HOUSE OF BLACKSTAR

11:00 – 15:00

Experience first hand the life of a medieval household on Bailey Hill by joining us as we head back in time on the Inner Bailey with displays about crime and punishment, weapon display melee, pike spear drills, drumming and more! Bring a seat and picnic!

Bailey Hill (top of the High Street, entrance by Mold Cenotaph)

WILD FLOWER PLANTING 11:30 - 13:00

Blow off the cobwebs and join in as we plant wildflowers on the banks of the River Alyn at Leadmills. Learn all about wildflowers and help to create places for wildlife and people. Enjoy seeing how your hard work creates a fantastic display of flowers!

Meet at the Leadmills entrance to the Rugby Club playing fields

LUNCH AND ACTIVITIES AT THE COMMUNITY GARDENS 12:00-14:00

Join us for some autumnal fun and activities with community apple pressing, apple bobbing and a free lunch (veggies and carnivores catered for!)

GUIDED WALK AT YOUR LOCAL NATURE RESERVE 14:00

Reserve manager Graham Berry will introduce you to the wonders of your local nature reserve. Make sure you bring suitable clothing for the outdoors!

Coed y Felin Nature Reserve, Hendre, CH7 5QE - 4 miles north west of Mold on the A541

It’s all go on Saturday 22 October with six ‘Wild About Mold’ events in and around Mold – including a medieval re-enactment on Bailey Hill with the House of the Blackstar
